This Privacy Policy (hereinafter: the "Privacy Policy") applies to the way in which we, Guidez Travel Tech Ltd. (hereinafter: "Guidez", "we", "our" or "us"), use Personal Data (as defined below) that is collected, received or stored by us about individuals in connection with the use of the website: https://guidez.app, (the “Website”) including its sub-domains and contents, as well as the Guidez application (the "Application") (the Website and the Application shall collectively be referred to herein as the "Platform"), and in connection with the services offered through the Platform, including the creation and marketing of digital recommendation maps and related content.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy is implemented because we, as the controller of the database, recognize the importance of privacy. This Privacy Policy details how we manage Personal Data collected during your use of the Platform, and the choices you can make regarding how this data will be collected.
What is Personal Data? "Personal Data" as defined in the Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981 (hereinafter: the "Privacy Protection Law") including data relating to an identified person or an identifiable person, including by means of an identifying detail such as name, ID number, biometric identifier, location data, online identifier, or one or more details relating to a person's physical, health, economic, social or cultural condition.
2. Consent and Changes
You are not under any legal obligation to provide us with Personal Data about yourself, and the provision of such data is made of your own free will. However, if you decide not to provide certain data, we may not be able to provide you with services or some of them, for example, enabling the use of the digital map creation platform or the provision of related services.
By using the Platform, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy, and to any collection, processing and sharing of your Personal Data, for the purposes detailed below. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not enter or make any use of our Platform. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change this Privacy Policy at any time.
3. Type of Personal Data Collected that is Directly Provided by You and Purposes of its Use
You may view general data on the Platform without registering or directly providing Personal Data, and you may purchase a map as a guest. However, we receive or collect data from you in the following ways:
3.1. Website Users. Depending on how you interact with the Website, we may process the following categories of personal data:
3.1.1. Contact form information - when you contact us through the contact forms available on the Website, we may collect your full name, email address, social profile account, primary platform, and the content of your inquiry, in order to handle your inquiry and contact you, if necessary;
3.1.2. Job application information - if you choose to submit your resume through the link on the Website, we will process any information included in your submission, including your contact details and resume, in order to review your application and contact you, if necessary; and
3.1.3. Consequences of non-provision - if you choose not to provide the required data, we may not be able to handle your inquiry, review your application, or contact you.
3.2. End Users of the Application. You may use certain features without registering, including purchasing a map as a guest. For a guest purchase, an anonymous account linked to your device is created, and your purchases are transferred to your regular account if you subsequently register. Depending on how you use the Platform, we may process the following categories of Personal Data:
3.2.1. Account registration information - your name, email address, password, and any other information you choose to provide us with, in order to create and maintain your account and provide you with the Platform's services. Passwords are managed by Google Firebase and are not stored by us;
3.2.2. Platform content and activity information - after opening an account, you may choose to upload travel recommendations, save maps you purchased, add social links, and provide any other content or data you choose to share with us through the Platform. If you purchase a map through an embedded feature on an influencer's website, we may collect your email address in connection with the purchase;
3.2.3. Payment and billing information - if you purchase maps or other paid content through the Platform, the purchase is completed on the checkout page of a third-party provider: Cardcom for purchases through the Website, or the Apple App Store or Google Play for purchases through the Application. We collect the payer's name and email address, the transaction amount and currency, transaction identifiers, store tax and commission information, and refund status, as applicable, to process and administer purchases and refunds, provide support, and maintain our records;
3.2.4. Third-party sign-in information - If you choose to register through your Google account, we receive from Google your name, email address, and Google profile picture, if available. If you choose to register through Apple, we receive your email address, which may be an Apple private relay address if you use Hide My Email, and your name when you first sign in, if made available by Apple. Apple does not provide us with your profile picture; and
3.2.5. Consequences of non-provision - if you choose not to provide the required data, we may not be able to register your account or provide you with certain services.
3.3. Influencers using the Application. If you wish to register for the Platform as an influencer, we may process the following categories of personal data:
3.3.1. Account registration and profile information - your name, email address, password, display name, including a display name in another language, profile picture, cover image, biography, and links to or usernames for your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X (Twitter), Discord and personal website accounts, as well as any other data you choose to provide us with, in order to create and maintain your account and provide you with the Platform’s services. Passwords are managed by Google Firebase and are not stored by us;
3.3.2. Platform content and activity information - after opening an account, you may choose to upload travel recommendations, save maps you created, add social links, share content, and provide other content or information through the Platform. We also generate and may display to you viewing and click statistics concerning visitors to your profile, maps and landing pages, as described in Section 4. These statistics are generated from data we collect and are not Instagram audience insights provided by you or Instagram. If you provide the email address of a person to whom you wish to gift a map, we use that address to send the recipient an email about the gift;
3.3.3. Payout information - to transfer to you the proceeds from sales, less our commission, we collect your bank account details. These include the account holder's name and, depending on your region, the bank code, branch and account number for Israel; the IBAN for Europe; or the routing number, account number and account type for the United States. We do not collect your credit card details or tax or VAT identification number for this purpose. Bank account details are stored in encrypted form, displayed to you only in part, and made available in full only to authorized personnel for the purpose of making transfers;
3.3.4. Instagram account connection - you may connect an Instagram Business or Creator account to your existing Guidez account. Instagram is not a method of registering for or signing in to the Platform. When you connect your account, we receive your Instagram user ID, username, account type and access token. We store the access token in encrypted form. The connection enables us to import and store your Instagram stories, highlights, posts and reels and process that content to support the creation of recommendation maps, including through external AI providers for transcription, text recognition, extraction of places and creation of map drafts; and
3.3.5. Consequences of non-provision - if you choose not to provide the required data, we may not be able to register your account or provide you with certain services.
4. Type of Personal Data Collected by Us that is Not Directly Provided by You and Purposes of its Use
4.1. Log Files. We may use log files. The data appearing in the log files includes IP address, browser type, date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, filtering actions, clicks and any other data that may be provided to us from your browser. We may use such data for the purpose of analyzing trends, managing the Platform and system, tracking visitor traffic on the Platform and system, and for collecting demographic data. For views of maps, influencer profiles and landing pages, we also collect, as applicable, your user ID if you are logged in, approximate location derived from your IP address (country, region, city and city coordinates), internet service provider (ASN), device type, browser language, referral source, campaign parameters (UTM) and session identifier. When you click an affiliate link to a third-party booking website, the click passes through our redirect server, which records your IP address, browser, referral source, campaign parameters (UTM) and session identifier. We also receive booking information from affiliate networks to calculate commissions.
4.2. Cookies. we use Cookies on the Platform and other tracking technologies for the purposes of data security, operation of the Platform, adapting the services to your needs, displaying personalized data, and improving your user experience. A "Cookie" is a small text file that is saved on your devices when you visit the Platform and is used to collect data about your activity on the Platform, save your preferences, and verify your identity. For more information about the types of Cookies and managing preferences, see Section 5 below.
4.3. Additional Tracking Technologies. Beyond Cookies, we may employ additional tracking technologies such as web beacons, pixels, and tags, which may be embedded in digital content, videos, or email messages. These technologies allow us to collect information about how you interact with our services, including the pages or content you view, associated usage and interaction data (such as access times), the time and date of access, and the IP address used to access the services. The use of web beacons and pixels helps us analyze usage patterns of the services and present you with tailored content and advertisements. Some of these technologies are operated by third parties, such as advertisers or analytics providers, and are therefore subject to the privacy policies of those parties.
4.4. Mobile Device and Location Data. We may collect technical data from your devices for the operation and analysis of the Platform, including device type, operating system, hardware model, device identifiers, usage data, browser settings, IP address, requested URLs and referral pages. Firebase Analytics may collect advertising identifiers in the Applications, including the Android advertising ID and, on iOS, the IDFA if you have authorized tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency mechanism. We also store your device's push notification token and the status of the notification and location permissions you have granted. If you grant location permission, your device's precise location is sent to our servers to provide nearby content and services, including feeds, search and flights, and may be recorded in server logs. Separately, when you view a map, profile or landing page, we collect your IP address and approximate location derived from it, as described in Section 4.1. This information may be associated with your user ID if you are logged in and is not necessarily anonymous. We use location and viewing data to adapt content to your location, generate statistics for influencers, identify bot traffic and attribute views and clicks for the calculation of influencer compensation. You may change your location permissions through your device settings.
4.5. Google Analytics and Additional Analytical Tools.
4.5.1. Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase
4.5.1.1. Use of Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase: Our Platform (including our web services and mobile applications, as applicable) uses Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase, web and app analytics services provided by Google LLC ("Google"), as well as other analytical tools, for the purpose of collecting and analyzing information about the use of the Platform. These tools help us understand how users behave on the Platform, identify usage trends, and improve the user experience.
4.5.1.2. The Data Collected: Google Analytics and Firebase collect a variety of data about the use of the Platform, including: frequency and duration of interactions; specific pages or screens viewed; in-app events and features used; the websites or sources that referred users to our Platform; technical characteristics of the device and browser; unique device identifiers (such as App Instance ID, or Advertising Identifiers like IDFA/AAID where enabled); general demographic data (such as general geographic location); and overall patterns of behavior and movement on the Platform
4.5.1.3. How the Data is Used: We use the data received from Google Analytics, Firebase, and other analytical tools for the following purposes: analyzing usage patterns and trends across web and mobile interfaces; measuring the effectiveness of features, campaigns, and content on the Platform; improving the user interface and overall experience; identifying and correcting technical issues or crashes; and developing new features and services.
4.5.1.4. Protecting Your Privacy: We do not combine the raw data collected through Google Analytics or Firebase with directly identifying Personal Data (such as your name or email address). We utilize IP address anonymization settings and standard data minimization features where applicable. Access to the collected data is restricted to authorized employees and contractors who need the information for their operational roles.
4.5.1.5. Limitations on Google: Google's ability to use and share data collected by Google Analytics and Firebase about your visits and use of the Platform is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service, the Firebase Terms of Service, and Google's Privacy Policy. 4.5.1.6. Opting Out of Google Analytics Tracking: You can manage or prevent your data from being collected and used by analytics tools through the following mechanisms:
4.5.1.6.1. Web Browsers: By downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), using the privacy settings in your browser to block third-party cookies, or using private/incognito browsing mode.
4.5.1.6.2. Mobile Devices: By adjusting the privacy and advertising settings on your mobile device (e.g., enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" / "Allow Apps to Request to Track" settings on iOS or opting out of Ads Personalization on Android) or through any privacy settings provided within the app.
4.5.2. Additional Analytical Tools: In addition to Google Analytics, we may use other analytical tools to improve our Platform and services. Each of these tools has its own privacy policy, and we are careful to select providers who are committed to high standards of privacy protection and information security.
5. Cookies
5.1. Types of Cookies. There are two main categories of Cookies: First-party Cookies - issued directly by us to your devices. Third-party Cookies - issued by a third party on our behalf, such as data analysis service providers (Google Analytics), advertising networks, social media platforms, and other service providers. These Cookies are used for functionality, performance/analytics, marketing, and social media purposes, and may be used to collect statistical information, tailor advertising content, and integrate external content (such as videos or posts from social networks). These Cookies are not under our control, and their use is subject to the privacy policies of those third parties. These third parties may change their terms of use and the purposes for using Cookies at any time, and we recommend reviewing the relevant policy of each third party for more information. Blocking third-party Cookies may affect some of the functions on the Platform, such as the display of external content or the personalization of advertisements.
5.2. Cookies may remain on your devices for different periods of time: Session Cookies – exist only as long as your browser is open and are automatically deleted when it is closed. Permanent Cookies – are saved even after the browser is closed and can be used to recognize your computers on return visits.
5.3. Types of Cookies by function: Essential Cookies - necessary for the basic functioning of the Platform, enabling navigation and use of its main features. They are stored for the duration of your stay on the Platform and are deleted when the browser is closed; Performance and analytics Cookies - help us understand how users interact with the Platform, identify errors, and improve the Platform.
5.4. Managing Cookie Preferences. Most browsers allow you to control Cookies through the browser settings. You can: Receive a notification before accepting Cookies and choose whether to approve them; Block Cookies entirely or selectively; Delete existing Cookies from your devices.
5.5. To manage your Cookie preferences, please refer to the specific instructions of the browser you are using:
5.5.1. Google Chrome: Menu (three dots) > Settings > Advanced > Privacy and security > Content settings > Cookies;
5.5.2. Mozilla Firefox: Menu > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data;
5.5.3. Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and Website Data;
5.5.4. Microsoft Edge: Menu > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies.
5.6. Consequences of Blocking Cookies: Blocking certain Cookies may affect your browsing experience and the availability of some features on the Platform: Blocking essential Cookies may prevent the use of certain parts of the Platform; Blocking functional Cookies may limit our ability to remember your preferences; Blocking performance Cookies will prevent us from improving the Platform according to usage patterns; Blocking marketing Cookies will prevent the display of personalized content, but will not affect the basic functionality of the Platform.
6. For What Purposes We Collect the Personal Data
In addition to the specific purposes of use described above with respect to each category of user, we may use Personal Data collected by us for general purposes that apply to all users of the Platform, as well as for specific purposes relating to Website users, end users of the Application, and influencers using the Application, as set out below:
In addition to the purposes of use detailed above, we may use Personal Data collected by us as detailed above, also in the following ways and for the following purposes:
6.1. General purposes applicable to all users. We may use Personal Data, as applicable, for general purposes that apply across the Platform, including to operate, maintain, secure and improve the Platform and our services; authenticate users; personalize content and user experience; analyze usage trends and develop new features; detect and prevent fraud, misuse or other unlawful activity; enforce our terms, policies and rights; comply with applicable law; and defend against claims or legal proceedings. Where permitted under applicable law and, where required, subject to your consent, we may also use your contact details to send you updates, newsletters and promotional communications regarding our services, and you may opt out of such communications at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism included in them or by contacting us sending an email to unsubscribe@guidez-travel.com.
6.2. Website Users. We may use the Personal Data of Website users to respond to inquiries submitted through the Website, contact you regarding your request, review resumes or job applications submitted through the Website, and communicate with you regarding such applications or potential opportunities.
6.3. End Users of the Application. We may use the Personal Data of end users of the Application to create and maintain user accounts, provide access to free and paid maps and related content made available through the Platform, process purchases and related transactions, save maps purchased by users, provide support, and allow users to upload, share and manage content, travel recommendations, or social links through the Platform.
6.4. Influencers using the Application. We may use the Personal Data of influencers to review their application to join the Platform, verify their eligibility, manually approve or reject their registration, create and maintain influencer accounts, enable login through Instagram, allow influencers to create, upload, manage, market and sell digital recommendation maps and related content through the Platform, display or link to their social media profiles and content, communicate with them regarding their use of the Platform, and manage our commercial relationship with them, including commissions and related payments, if applicable.
7. Use of Anonymous Data
We may use anonymous or statistical data (which does not allow for the identification of an individual user), such as aggregated data that has been collected and/or generated by us as a result of the use of the Platform, including sharing it with third parties and our clients within the scope of our business activities.
8. How We Share Personal Data
Apart from the above, we will not transfer the data you have provided to us to third parties, except in the following cases:
8.1. To service providers acting on our behalf, who assist us in our activities, including business operation providers, application operation providers, cloud hosting providers, user authentication providers, analytics providers, notification providers, electronic mailing providers, AI providers and payment and app-store providers (including Apple). Where you purchase a map or other digital content through the app-store, we may share with the app-store operator information regarding your access to or use of the relevant map or content, to the extent necessary to process, administer, evaluate, or respond to a refund request or related transaction inquiry. For certain maps, we share the purchaser's email address with Google to grant access to the map through Google My Maps;
8.2. In the event of a violation of the terms of use or this Privacy Policy or if you perform through the Platform, actions that appear to be contrary to law, or an attempt to perform such actions;
8.3. In the event of any dispute, claim, lawsuit, demand or legal proceedings, if any, between you and us;
8.4. In any case where we believe that the disclosure of the data is necessary to prevent bodily harm or property damage (to you or to a third party) or in connection with an investigation into suspicions of illegal acts;
8.5. In the event that we are required by law to transfer your personal details and data collected about your activity on the Platform to third parties, including if we receive a judicial order directing us to provide your details or data about you to a third party or in response to a request from a law enforcement authority or other governmental or public authority;
8.6. In the event that we are acquired by a third-party company or merge with a third-party company.
In certain circumstances, third parties to whom the data is transferred under this section may be located outside Israel, including in countries that are subject to a different level of protection than that provided under Israeli law.
9. Data Security
We implement systems and procedures for data security on the Platform. While these systems and procedures reduce the risks of unauthorized intrusion into our computers, they do not provide absolute security. Therefore, although we strive to use acceptable and reasonable means to protect your Personal Data, we do not guarantee that the Platform will be absolutely immune from unauthorized access to the data stored in it. 10. Children's Privacy
The use of the Platform is not intended for children under the age of 18. If you are a minor under the age 18, you must obtain the consent of your legal guardian before using the Platform.
11. Your Rights and Protection of Your Privacy
Guidez Travel Tech Ltd. is the controller of the database containing the data detailed in this policy. We respect your right to privacy and are interested in keeping only required, up-to-date and accurate data. It is important for us that you know that you have the right to review data about you that we hold, and if you find that this data is not correct, complete, clear or up-to-date, you are invited to contact us with a detailed request to correct or delete such data, in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981 and the Privacy Protection Regulations (Conditions for Reviewing Data and Appeal Procedures on Refusal to Request for Review), 5741-1981.
